Holland Buckets

  Holland Buckets
Acrylic/Oil Pastel

36x36

This piece has a great story also. I hate going to the dentist, but after much procrastination I finally did. As I was working on some card orders, in my lap, the dentist asked me what I did for a living. I told her and while I was sitting in her chair waiting for the tooth assault, she came back and said she liked my work. She wanted to come by and see my studio and buy some cards direct. Later that week, she came by with her kids, fell in love with this painting and told me to put a sold sign on it for the upcoming show. The moral to the story. Look for opportunity around every corner...a cleaning of the tooth, could bring a painting on the wall!

Acrylic/Oil Pastel

I created and sold this piece in 2004. It's new home is with an incredible man, who was my physician's assistant in the late 90's when I was very ill. It was great to have John at one of my shows, and an honor for him to have two of my pieces now!

Acrylic/Oil Pastel

A sister painting to Holland Buckets. This piece sold to a very nice man who works in the creative field. It was a huge complete for me to have him love this piece so much. I am continuing on this theme with ideas for three more pieces...keep you eyes open, or drop a note if you have an idea you'd like to see for a painting for yourself.

This piece was shown at one of my studio shows last year and sold. I really enjoy doing this fragmented look. I took it to other levels that you will see thru out the gallery.

  Circle of Influence
Acrylic/Oil Pastel

36x36

I created and sold this piece in 2004. I wanted to give an old world feel with an abstract approach. It worked...I think I had the piece for maybe a month, before I had to say goodbye.

  Red
Acrylic/Oil Pastel

There is a great story behind the sale of this piece along with 5 Faces, One Spirit. They both showed at Uptown Vision. I just installed the work and a woman came in for an eye appointment. This piece caught her eye as did the show itself. She talked her husband into coming to the show and he was pleasantly surprised. They were torn between the two, and decided to get both! The pieces are now in their new home at the residences of ZaZa in Uptown Dallas. This pic is very fuzzy, but I will be in touch with them to get a great install shot for the Installations Gallery.

  Angst
Acrylic

36x36

This was one of 10 paintings I painted in 2000. It's new home is in Washington, DC. with two very incredible men. Mike and Carlos saw the painting on one of their visits to Dallas. A year later, they asked to buy it. Because it's one of my firsts it will always have sentimental value to me, and I'm very happy it's with people I love. The painting itself was loosely based on a self-portrait of me, trying to learn more about my artist self...still have plenty of days like this one...guess we all do.

  Fixated
Acrylic/Oil Pastel/Multi-media

36x36

I created this piece in the summer of 2005. It showed at Hibernia Dental Arts, for a show I did there. It was bought by a man who was giving it to his girlfriend as a surprise birthday gift. I never met the couple, but hope they are enjoying this piece. I've not done any other like this...going to look more at some ideas with this type of overlapping theme later later in the year.

  Vibrant Life
Acrylic/Oil Pastel

30x40

This piece was shown at my first Opening in Houston, Texas in 2005. The show was a great success. This painting was the first to say goodbye. It's inspiration came from my nude yoga classes I was taking at the time. This position is my interpretation of proud warrior pose. It has a lot of fluidity to it and the colors gave it a dance like quality. Thus it's name!

  Blue Tilt
Acrylic/Oil Pastel

24x48

I created this piece in 2004 and was a gift to my brother Bill and his wife Kim for Christmas. I put one more layer on it so it's a little different than this image...darker. I will have a pic for viewing in the installations gallery later.

  Flatlands a.k.a. Green Jeans
Acrylic/Oil Pastel

24x60/diptich

This piece was created in 2005. After traveling back to Missouri, visiting family, I kept running across these patterns in the corn fields. I wanted to do a landscape, and put my abstract twist on it. The painting will be making it's new home in Boston. My web designer, and very patient teacher requested it...and whatever he wants, he gets! I have to say that because he can delete anything I write that he doesn't approve...love ya Seth!!

  Metroplexities
Acrylic

This painting was an experiment on patience. I think it came up as a tie...the painting didn't get the better of me, but it totally had a mind of it's own. In the end it found it's new owner here in Dallas. I like pieces that push me to try something new...I like them more after they are complete and look good, like this one.

  Pathways
Acrylic/Oil Pastel

Triptich/24x78

This piece was created in 2003. It was one of my first attempts at doing a 3 part painting. This image was sold in 2004. It's been a stepping stone and inspiration for two other triptichs that I completed...one in 2005 and the other just finishing for my first corporate building installation, that piece is 66x48...but it all started with this painting. Would love to talk to the owners again to say hello

Angel Speak

  Angel Speak
Acrylic/Oil Pastel

36x48

I created and sold this piece in 2004. I wanted this piece to have some symbolism, so I left the angels faces blank and incorporated them into their torsos...can you see them? The idea here is speaking from with in ones self, with out uttering a word. I loved this piece, but it didn't stay around my studio for long.

Paint Scratch

  Paint Scratch
Acrylic

48x60

I created and sold this piece in 2004. It was my fist attempt at larger canvas. There are a little over 35 layers of paint on this piece...it rocked. I almost didn't want to sell it, but I needed to make room for more new work..so off it went on it's new adventure. If you have this piece, I never knew who bought it, so if you have it, I would love to say hello...drop me a note.

If you paint it they will come! This piece was created while painting live at the Toast to Life 2005, event benefiting Dallas Aids Resource Center. A good friend bought the piece with the idea of donating it for another fundraiser. The fundraiser was cancelled, and now he is the proud owner of the biggest Urban Cowboy painting I've created to date. I'd love to do one bigger...are there any takers?
