I'm singing this year in the 10th anniversary of Sing For the Cure, a movement comprised of 10 songs, centering the experiences of Breast Cancer.

The Turtle Creek Chorale started this project 10 year ago. It's now sung around the world.

This is TCC singing One Voice with The Mens Heartland Chorus

As I practise for the performance in May, I dedicate the performance to my cousin Lori who fights everyday to look beyond the disease and into her future. Her childrens future

Love you Lori

For Haiti

A question has been brought up several times after the earthquake heard halfway around the world.

We all go back to our lives, doing what we do and somehow life goes on.

So, the director of TCC put an emergency benefit together for those in Haiti. Going beyond asking what you can do, and acting on that question...everything has an answer, the question for me is answered.

This year has been a whirl wind of activity.

I was asked by a local photographer, Larry Lourcey...his website is www.lourceyphoto.com or the blog www.lourceyphoto.com/blog. He's starting a project this year called Portrait of an artist and I was asked to kick off his project,

His idea is to take portraits of individuals with their passion, all walks of life and all ages.

His idea for me was ironic, as I have been wanting to paint my head. His idea, much cleaner, was to take a picture of the pack of my head and then take a picture of my art...then superinpose the art on my head.

For me the final image represents what goes on in my head while buildinf a piece

The changing ideas forming to build a final statement. Each painting is in my head and in my heart. No mistakes...happy accidents are wgat makes life interesting.

The painting behind me is the piece used for the project, called, Live, Laugh, Love. 24x48...the canvas representswhat I'm trying to focus on. With everything going on in our kives, we forget to laugh and it's essential, I believe to love.

Finally, yesterday after a day of volunteering with Aids Interfaith Network, I met up with a good friend Al Glover, to take pics of q16 pieces now hanging for an upcoming show in February.

Thanks Al, more to come...here's a clue...it involves a bank and a coffee label!

It's funny how things happen in your life. And how art imitates life. This summer, I'll be doing something I never thought possible. I'm traveling abroad after 2 years of grueling sickness. I didn't know if I'd ever get back to Dallas and the life I knew here.

One day I'm an artist with Aids trying to make my spot in the world, the next, I was struggling with something called P.M.L. and trying to relearn my life..at one point not knowing if it would be much of a life at all.

My art is starting to thrive again, I'm reconnecting with old friends and meeting new.

I have several projects on the burner and I have a new faith in life...my perspective with age is getting clearer. My art, with age is getting clearer. I have grabbed onto a vision for myself and others...nothing grand, but, something difficult.

To LIVE...not just survive. To experience the "real you" and run with it.

The great thing about getting older is...getting older. I'm finding that the grass is always greener. Tending to your garden and weeding out the bad seeds is tough, some say impossible. It's not, it just takes time. Starting the week this last week of the new year, I grab on to those things I hold dear. My Family. My Friends. Me.

You will. Look to the right of this page and notice a new blog about Cancer and Aids.

As a poz peddler, a person who is hiv+ and a part of a national organization, I was notified by a friend in Minnesota about a man who is battling bot, Cancer and Aids, Read on...

If there is one person who exemplifies the spirit of Positive Pedalers it is
Paul Serchia.

During his tenure on the Board he was a tireless laborer, putting out the BrewHaHa, Positive Traction, and constantly updating members of the activities of PosPeds in his role as Chair of the Communications Committee. Paul had to step down from the Board for health reasons a few years ago, but behind the scenes he was always with us, still updating our information and being of help in countless ways and adding valuable insight to our work and mission to eliminate the stigma of people with HIV/AIDS.

Positive since 1991, Paul has been living with cancer for several years now. But his remarkable approach to life and living has kept him very active, and essential to the ongoing work of Positive Pedalers.

There is no one better or more deserving to name as an Emeritus Member of the Board, and at the end of our 2010 Winter Retreat the Board unanimously decided to bring Paul into this honored position.

I tok this directly from this site-
